Google Fiber which is a part of Alphabet Inc. offers broadband and internet services to various states of United States. It is one of the slowly and gradually rising unit of Google which has 68,715 TV service users and 453,000 internet service users as of 2016. In order to come up with the company’s budget and the product which its offers, Google Fiber has taken a new initiative. According to the recent news, the company will no longer support its TV package service and will concentrate more on the high-speed internet connection in Louisville and San Antonio.

Google Fiber was recently introduced to the regions like San Antonio, Louisville, Texas, and Kentucky but the company will not expand all its available services in these regions. The company will focus on its high-speed internet connection service. In today’s world people focus more on video-streaming platforms like YouTube, Hulu, Netflix to watch movies, serials, and other videos. Hence the initiative taken by Google Fiber will be extremely useful.

But the existing users of Google Fiber who still use Fiber TV add-on should not worry as this service is not completely removed by the company. As the trend of watching videos, movies has shifted from TV platform to the online streaming sites, this initiative is taking by Google.

For watching the online contents, it is necessary that an individual should have high-speed internet connection. Thus the Google Fiber will now offer the high-speed internet connection in the regions like Louisville and San Antonio. Hence the Google Fiber users based in San Antonio, Texas, Louisville and Kentucky will see high-speed internet connection instead of TV service.

In order to reduce additional expenses, and the troubles in building its network, the company has taken this initiative. The TV service of Google Fiber features 220 channels and a DVR service but this feature cannot be availed by the users of Louisville and San Antonio. With a high-speed internet connection, the users can efficiently choose the video streaming platform of their own.
